A dream cage for a Sugar Glider.
The perfect cage for a Sugar Glider would likely be large in size with many levels and toys to play with inside. Many people use old bird cages or other pet cages which can actually harm Sugar Gliders because of the paint. There are, however, custom cages built specifically for Sugar Gliders that feature PVC vinyl coated rungs that are healthier. They are rather tall and large and host many acrobatic elements and things to play on.
It is essential that the cage is as big as possible, because these animals are very active, especially at night and need lots of room to play. Like in the wild, Sugar Gliders like to be playful. Get a cage that is tall and does not have multiple levels. Have a nice comfy resting area where they can snuggle in and have a nap.
Water is key to have positioned within easy access of your Sugar Glider. Fill up a water bottle with fresh water every morning and make sure there is enough for overnight as they exert themselvers the most when the sun goes down. Many cages come with built in water bottles and playthings. Be cautious of bird cages and used cages, because they may be harmful to this exotic pet.
